I'm not very familiar with these characters so is it okay if I ask what's that underneath her skin?

it's a really rare PS2 horror game made by fromsoftware called Kuon.
The stuff underneath her skin is mulberry fruit-- which i realize sounds weird at face value, but it's important to the story LOL.
